About Emma // Los Angeles-based Screenwriter
A tried and true East Coaster, Emma spent most of her formative years in rural Vermont. Her sights have always been set on the screen, with aspirations to be a comedy and film writer stemming from her childhood obsession with Saturday Night Live. Emma is a recent graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, having earned her MFA in Screenwriting. She was honored with the 2025 Showcase Award for Adapted Feature for her script Wait, Wait, Wait.
Prior to that, Emma graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marist College (now University) in 2022, having pursued her degree in Media Studies and Production: Film and Television, with minors in Creative Writing and Advertising. She was bestowed the Baccalaureate Award for Excellence in Media Studies and Production, the highest achievable academic honor within the department.
Emma enjoys crafting stories centered around queer characters – without reducing them to “coming out” stories. She writes across the genres of action, horror, drama, sports, and more, and her scripts are always laced with a darkly comedic tone.
Emma has worked on a variety of short film productions, and has experience as a Script Supervisor, Production Assistant, and Assistant Camera Operator. She has worked as an Operations Assistant for the Woodstock Film Festival, as well as a Script Reader and Reviewer for the Greater Philadelphia Film Office’s “Set in Philadelphia” Screenwriting Competition.
Looking forward, Emma intends to create a proof-of-concept film of one of her feature scripts, while continuing to expand her own portfolio of specs. She also plans to tighten up her stand-up comedy set, as well as attend a 2026 World Cup match (which she has already started saving up for). Please feel free to contact her regarding any writing, production, post-production, or soccer-viewing opportunities!
